Uniform
School places high emphasis upon standards of dress and maintaining appropriate school uniform. The following guidelines are for parents to ensure that children attend school in the correct uniform.
Branded uniform is available through Motiv8, however, we do understand that for some families buying uniform from a more local shop is more accessible. This is fine as our branded uniform is not compulsory and non branded uniform is more than acceptable. Our uniform is not seasonal. We do also offer throughout the year, opportunity to top up uniform by having suppliers on site and also work with families to ensure we can support our environment by offering pre loved uniform free of charge- please speak to one of us if we can help with this. Our children are extremely proud to wear school uniform so we are grateful for your support in this matter – if it does become tricky to purchase or take advantage of our pre loved uniform, please speak to a member of staff who will be more than happy to help.
Uniform Code
No jewellery is to be worn at the school and wrist watches are discouraged as there are clocks in every room. Studs are allowed, but MUST be removed for PE lessons. Only one stud per ear is permitted. Parents are asked to ensure that if ears are being pierced it is best done at the beginning of the summer holiday so that PE lessons and swimming are not missed.
Girls and Boys as appropriate: Skirt/Pinafore Dress, School Trousers, White shirt or white polo shirt, Red Ayresome sweatshirt – NOT HOODED or red cardigan, red striped/checked dress in summer
Shoes – must be black and serviceable, not trainers. Girls must wear sensible shoes, we advise not to wear strappy shoes which offer little foot support. In the winter BLACK boots are permissible.
Year 6 uniform: We set a high standard for our Year 6 children who are set to transfer to secondary school the following year. Therefore, in order to ensure high standards and expectations, children will wear a tie and a black jumper, all children will be provided with a tie at the beginning of Year 6. Additional ties are also available. All pupils must wear a plain white, ‘non logo’ school shirt in Year 6.
PE Kit
On the days that children have PE in school they are expected to bring a full PE kit to school with them to get changed into.
- Red, grey or black tracksuit bottoms or shorts
- Red t-shirt and / or sweatshirt
- Trainers
