School Meals

Our school meals are provided by Middlesbrough Council and are cooked freshly on site everyday.

School operates four staggered lunch times from 11.30a.m. until 1.15 p.m – all children have 45 minutes for lunch. The school has a dedicated dining hall for all year groups. The staggered lunchtime enables all year groups to have sufficient time to eat their meal.

Members of the Senior Leadership Team are on duty daily throughout the week.

In Year 3 to Year 6 meals are provided at a cost of £2.15 per day .As we are a cashless school, payment should be made directly via ParentPay at the beginning of each week. If your child is in Reception, Year 1 or Year 2, lunch is provided free of charge as part of the Universal Free School Meal offer.

If you feel that you are entitled to free school meals for any school age child, please contact visit https://www.middlesbrough.gov.uk/schools-and-education/school-catering

Even if your child is in Reception, Year 1 or Year 2 and receiving free meals as part of the universal offer, you should still check your eligibility for free meals as school will receive further income to support your child with their learning and you might be eligible for additional financial support during school holidays.

Of course, if you choose, your child may bring a packed lunch instead of having a school meal.  As we promote healthy eating, we ask you not to send chocolate, sweets or fizzy drinks in your child’s lunchbox but provide them with a healthy and balanced meal.

Please note that non-payment of dinner money will trigger a reminder via Parent Pay.  In order to support parents from building up school meal debt, where money has not been received by the given deadline, parents will be required to provide their child with a packed lunch until the debt is cleared. Any persistent and unresolved debts will be referred to the Trust’s finance team.

Milk

Children in our Early Years Foundation Stage have daily access to milk, should they wish to drink it. It is also readily available in the school hall for older children to drink at lunchtimes.

Fruit/Toast

Children across school are offered toast as they arrive on a morning and at break time. We are so fortunate to have all of our bread provided free of charge by Greggs at Linthorpe Road, Middlesbrough. This is all part of the Greggs Foundation: we are delighted to be working with them for the first time this year. More information can be found here: Greggs Foundation

Children in EYFS and KS1 can choose to have a piece of fruit each day as a snack as part of the School Fruit Scheme.

Please do let us know if your child has any particular allergies so that we can take this into consideration when providing food.
